And as a bonus, there will be a number of special viewing areas set up with surprise concerts by famous artists from all over the country.
Dublin Independence Day Celebration
When thinking about how to celebrate July 4th in Columbus, Ohio, consider visiting Dublin. Dublin is not only one of the best places to live in, but to have fun as well. Independence Day Celebration in Dublin kicks off with a fishing derby in Coffman Park Pond at 8 a.m, and the parade starts at 11 a.m. And there is more – Michael McDonald and Chaka Khan are performing in 2019! The Celebration at the stadium begins at 4:30 p.m. with live performances from Chaka Khan and Michael McDonald.
Sheryl Crow will sing in the Independence Day Concert at 8 p.m., so if you are a fan, you will have a bliss! All you need to do is to get a wristband for $5 and enjoy the show. And a breathtaking fireworks display will end the night at 9:50 p.m. Enjoy the party in the park and many amazing performances.

Celebrate the Independence Day at Ohio Village
The Ohio Village, also known as the Ohio History Connection, sits in northern Columbus and this year will host a special Independence Day event on the Saturday after July 4th. Old-fashioned family activities make this event one of the best ways to celebrate July 4th in Columbus, Ohio. Set in a re-created 19th-century village, the celebration will include patriotic speeches, a Grand Procession, Muffins baseball, a concert by the Ohio Village Singers, and a community celebration dance. And pie lovers can enjoy in pie-eating contests!
These events will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2019. In order to attend them, you will need to pay admission, which you can purchase at the Ohio History Center or the John Hauck Foundation Welcome Center.
Military family free days at the Columbus Zoo
In case you are an active or non-active member of the military, you can take your family to the Columbus Zoo for free during the 4th July week, from June 29 through July 7, 2019.
This convenient free admission is the Zoo’s way of showing gratitude to military service members who have risked their lives to defend our nation. Sadly, many soldiers don’t get to celebrate Independence Day with their families, but spending a day at the zoo for free is a great way to enjoy some quality family time for the ones on leave or retired from the armed forces.

Sunbury Independence Day
If you want to do something different this year and you would rather spend your Fourth of July browsing through thousands of unique items, we know just the place for you! Just head northeast of Columbus to Sunbury Village Square for the Independence Day Flea Market and Celebration, you will enjoy it!
At this vibrant annual market, you can go through vendor’s offerings, enjoy amazing food and live music, and enjoy an annual fireworks show at Big Walnut High School starting at 10 p.m. The market will be open to visitors from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The annual Outhouse Race and other daytime activities will take place at the Square in downtown Sunbury.
